PlayBlog A Marriage Proposal on Stage at Memphis Audience members at the April 17 matinee of Memphis were on their feet to applaud more than just the rousing finale of the rock musical. The curtain call also featured a marriage proposal.

Ramon Castro, whose cousin James Brown III is in the Memphis ensemble, made a donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and arranged for a special moment on stage with his girlfriend, Celeste Sanders, following the 2 PM performance.

With both of their families in the audience and in front of a packed house, Castro proposed to Sanders with the Memphis cast looking on. How did he propose? By asking: "Will you be the woman to pick out my clothes for the rest of my life?" (The same line Huey Calhoun uses to propose to Felicia Finley in the musical!).

You'll have to click the link below to find out how Celeste answered, but to borrow a word from Huey Calhoun: Hockadoo!
