News A Musical: Madame Bovary Will Play Roy Arias Stage IV; Casting Announced Passajj Productions will present A Musical: Madame Bovary, based on the novel by Gustave Flaubert, beginning May 17 at Roy Arias Stage IV.

Directed by Marlene Thorn Taber, performances will continue through June 2.

Hayley Hoffmeister will portray Emma Bovary, and Roger Rathburn will be Charles Bovary. The cast will also include John Raymond Barker, Alison Novelli, Eyal Sherf, Mia Rose Spackman, Patrick Thomas Spencer, Christopher G. Tefft and Carl G. Zurhorst.

A Musical: Madame Bovary features music and lyrics by Paul Dick. The musical, according to press notes, "brings to life Flaubert's characters as they transition from youthful romanticism to mature reality except for Emma Bovary. This is the story of her passion."

The creative team includes costume designer Roejendra Adams, lighting designer Mitchell Ost, production stage manager Brian R. Sekinger and scenic designer Aaron Sheckler.

Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8 PM, Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM and May 20 and 27 and 8 PM. Roy Arias Stage IV is located at 300 West 43rd Street.
