After receiving acclaim from audiences and critics alike for its West Coast debut, Poe!, written by Willard Simms and Glenn M. Benest returns to Los Angeles' Theatre Geo from July 20-Aug. 18. The new production includes some added scenes and promising new cast members.

Poe! is an intense drama that chronicles the last days of poet Edgar Allen Poe, which were spent in a mental institution. The play is one of many by co-writer Simms depicting literary geniuses plagued by fatal flaws. Sadly, Poe spends his time attempting to convince doctors of his identity while fighting a losing battle against alcoholism.

Steven Benson will direct the production, and Anthony Skordi, a permanent member of Vanessa Redgrave’s Moving Theatre, will reprise his challenging role of Poe in the upcoming run.

Presented by Pearl Productions, Poe! will run at Theatre Geo from July 20 through Aug. 18. For tickets or more information, call THEATIX at (213) 466-1767.
