News A Sideshow Master, A Showgirl and a Dwarf Fill Off-Broadway's Carnival Knowledge, July 24 Todd Robbins' Carnival Knowledge, makes its Off-Broadway premiere at the SoHo Playhouse, July 24. The show opens Aug. 17 for an open-ended run.

Audiences will come "face to face with some of the most astonishing human oddities, freaks and feats of physical skill ever seen," a release boasts. Carnival Knowledge delves into the history of the world of circus and carnival sideshows, promising "glass-eating, self-electrocution, levitation, sword swallowing and all manner of fire ingesting." Created by and starring Todd Robbins — a "Sideshows by the Seashore" regular at Coney Island USA — Carnival Knowledge features its creator with showgirl Shannon Morrow and little person, Little Jimmy. The run is presented by Dana Matthow.

The presentation features a special carnival Mini-Midway pre-show a half hour before showtime. Admission to the Mini-Midway is included in the ticket price. The performance schedule is as follows: Thursdays at 8 PM, Fridays at 9 PM, Saturdays at 8 PM and 10:30 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM.
