News A Spoonful of Sherman to Celebrate Songwriting Brothers Robert and Richard Sherman at London's St. James The work of songwriter Richard Sherman and his late brother Robert B. Sherman is to be celebrated in two performances Jan. 6 and 13, 2014, at London's St. James Studio Theatre.

The evening will feature a guest appearance by Robert's son Robbie, himself a writer of musicals, performing alongside West End performers including Charlotte Wakefield, Emma Williams and Stuart Matthew Price. The musical director is Colin Billing.

According to press materials, songs featured will span 90 years of Sherman family history by including music from the Sherman Brothers' father, Tin Pan Alley songwriter Al Sherman.

Robert and Richard Sherman are the most successful songwriting partnership in the history of Hollywood, composing more movie musical songs and acclaimed film scores than any other writing team. Their repertoire includes the Oscar-winning "Chim Chim Cher-ee," "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and "Feed the Birds" from the film "Mary Poppins" to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," which earned them a third Oscar nomination.

These performances mark the launch of Robert B. Sherman's autobiographical book, "Moose: Chapters From My Life."
