News A Streetcar Named Desire, with Gillian Anderson, Extends Run at Young Vic; Daily Lottery, Too The Young Vic's imminent production of A Streetcar Named Desire, which begins performances July 23 prior to an official opening July 28 and has already become the fastest-selling Young Vic show of all time, is to extend its run by two weeks, playing through Sept. 19 instead of the previously announced Sept. 6.

In addition, the Young Vic is launching its first day seat lottery to allow audiences to see the show at the last minute. Names will be taken at the box office in person at 5 PM with winners announced at 5:30 PM for each evening's performance and at 1 PM with winners announced at  1:30 PM for matinee performances. All tickets in the lottery will cost £20 with £10 concession for under 26's. The production, directed by Benedict Andrews, stars Gillian Anderson as Blanche DuBois, Ben Foster as Stanley Kowalski, Vanessa Kirby as Stella and Corey Johnson as Mitch. Also in the cast are Clare Burt, Lachele Carl, Branwell Donaghey, Otto Farrant, Nicholas Gecks, Troy Glasgow, Stephanie Jacob and Claire Prempeh.
