News   A Very First Look at the Upcoming NYC Revival of Once Upon a Mattress, Starring Jackie Hoffman and Lypsinka
Meet the cast of Transport Group upcoming Off-Broadway revival of Once Upon a Mattress, which will begin previews Nov. 23 prior to an official opening Dec. 13 at the Abrons Arts Center.

Directed by Jack Cummings III, the cast will be headed by the previously announced Jackie Hoffman as Princess Winnifred and John “Lypsinka” Epperson as Queen Aggravain.

They will be joined by Jessica Fontana as Lady Larken, David Greenspan as The King, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka as The Minstrel, Cory Lingner as The Jester, Zak Resnick as Sir Harry, Jay Rogers as The Wizard and Jason SweetTooth Williams as Prince Dauntless with Vivienne Cleary, Richard Costa, Michael De Souza, Tim Dolan, Jack Donahue, Amy Griffin, Sarah Killough, Kristen Michelle, Ali Reed and Doug Shapiro.

"During a kingdom-wide search to find a princess fit for the hapless Prince Dauntless, in swims the less-than-regal Princess Winnifred the Woebegone (Hoffman)," according to press notes. "Unrefined and undeniably charming, Winnifred is like no princess Dauntless has ever seen and his heart is captured. The truly terrible Queen Aggravain (Epperson) goes on a mission to come between her son and his soulmate in this retelling of the classic story of 'The Princess and the Pea.' This is a Happily-Ever-After like no other!"

Once Upon a Mattress has music by Mary Rodgers and lyrics by Marshall Barer and a book by Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller and Barer. The scenic design is by Sandra Goldmark, costume design is by Kathryn Rohe, lighting design is by Drama Desk nominee R. Lee Kennedy and sound design is by Walter Trarbach. The production will also have musical staging and choreography by Scott Rink, musical direction by Matt Castle and arrangements and new orchestrations by Frank Galgano and Matt Castle. Casting is by Nora Brennan Casting. Once Upon a Mattress will feature live drawings by Ken Fallin.

Performances will continue through Jan. 3, 2016.
