News About Face, with Walsh and Myers, Begins NYMF Run Sept. 17 The 1950's college-set musical About Face, starring Barbara Walsh and Pamela Myers, begins performances Sept. 17 at 37 Arts.

Featuring book and lyrics by David Arthur and music by Jeffrey Lodin, the New York Musical Theatre Festival production will run through Sept. 24 at the Off-Broadway venue.

Directed by Nick Corley and featuring choreography by Mary MacLeod, About Face has a cast that includes Walsh (2006 revival of Company), Myers (Broadway's original Company), Mark Zimmerman (A Catered Affair), Aubrey Sinn, Nick Mannix, Rebecca Weiner, Mark Christine, Kyle G. Bailey, Katie Gassert, Sean David, Elizabeth Rajasekhar, Andrew DiConcetto and Jacey Powers.

"Set in 1955 amid the sexually charged hijinks of Whittney College, this rollicking, romantic comedy finds Coach Benedick and English Literature Professor Beatrice Stanton waging their 'merry war of wits,'" according to production notes. "Love, laughter and a little mischief are on a spree in this high-flying, heartwarming musical that puts the comedy back in musical comedy!"

Director Corley provides scenic design; the creative team also includes Dave Pepin (music director), Lydia St. Claire (costumes) and Jim Milkey (lighting).

Running Sept. 15–Oct. 5, NYMF 2008 features musicals from around the world, culled from invitations and an open-submission process.
