Presented as part of Barrington's Musical Theatre Lab Series, See Rock City runs Aug. 8-23 under the direction of Kevin Del Aguila.
The cast for the workshop includes Jill Abramovitz (Fame Becomes Me), Gwen Hollander (Little Women), John Jellison (Caroline, Or Change), David Rossmer (Fiddler on the Roof), Benjamin Schrader (Big River), Wesley Taylor (West Side Story) and Cassie Wooley (Merrily We Roll Along).
Featuring book and lyrics by Mathias and music by Alexander, See Rock City "ventures to tourist destinations across America, mapping out stories of sightseers who need to get a little lost in order to find themselves. From Coney Island to Mt. McKinley, the Alamo to Niagara Falls — get ready to take the leap!"
Musical direction for See Rock City is by Vadim Feichtner, with Mark Mariani (costume design), Brian Prather (set design), Jillian Marie Walker (sound design) and David F. Segal and Jake Patt (lighting design).
The Richard Rogers Award-winning musical will also be showcased as part of 2008 NAMT Festival of New Musicals in New York. See Rock City was developed through the BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. The workshop will be presented at the VFW Hall, 36 Linden Street, in Pittsfield, MA.
