News Academy Award Winner Kevin Spacey to Run London's Old Vic Kevin Spacey is to be the new Artistic Director of the Old Vic, according to sources in London's theatreland.

Spacey is to be introduced to the press at a reception at the Old Vic on Wednesday, Feb 5. The reception will be hosted by Old Vic owner Sally Greene, and the Chairman of the Old Vic, Sir Elton John, will also be present. Spacey proved his stage mettle a few years ago in Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh at the Almeida, and was subsequently brought on the Old Vic's board by Sally Greene.

Quite apart from his acting experience and connections, he is also used to moving in the highest circles, recently accompanying former President Clinton on a visit to Britain.
