Rob Melrose, artistic director of San Francisco's Cutting Ball Theater, directs the engagement, which continues through April 22.

The cast features Earnest Bentley, Kaliswa Brewster, Caleb Carlson, Ray Chapman, Bjorn DuPaty, Zack Fine, Whitney Hudson, Joseph Midyett, Kevin Orton, Noah Putterman, Sid Solomon, William Sturdivant and Kathleen Wise.

"Julius Caesar is a stirring parallel to today's politics; a classic story of pride and envy, arrogance and honor, opportunity and tragic strategic errors," said director Melrose in a statement. "Written in one of his most productive times of Shakespeare's life, Julius Caesar blends the historic events of the reign of this iconic roman emperor with tragic elements and compelling language."

Michael Sexton, artistic director of The Shakespeare Society, will host a talkback following the April 17 performance.
