News Actor Ralph Richardson's Papers Bought For British Library

The British Library now owns the private papers of Sir Ralph Richardson, as well as those of Lord Olivier and Sir John Gielgud.

The three men were the best-known leading actors of the twentieth century. Though Richardson was less showy than the other two, he was hugely respected by other members of the profession, and his papers are a valuable addition to the British Library's extensive theatrical collection.
