The Actors Company Theatre will present Maxim Gorky's play, The Summer People, Jan. 29-Feb. 1 in the Theatre at the New York Historical Society.
Translated from Russian by Nicholas Saunders and Frank Dywer, The Summer People concerns Russia's idle nouveau riche at the turn of the 20th Century. Gorky is best known for The Lower Depths, his darkly realistic play set in the Moscow slums.
Scott Alan Evans directs the company including Lisa Barnes, Nora Chester, Cynthia Darlow, Francesca Di Mauro, Delphi Harrington, John Horton, David Edward Jones, Jack Koenig, James Murtaugh, Eve Michelson, Greggory Salata, David Schulman, Tom Stewart, Michael Tisdale, Andrew Weems, William Wise and Lyn Wright.
Eric Samuelson composed the original score. Stephanie Wiereinga is the production stage manager.
