Actors' Equity Association, the labor union representing performers and stage managers on and Off-Broadway and in many regional theatres, has joined the cyber age. Lazar Productions was commissioned to design a website for the organization, one that would offer casting information, a resource center, frequently asked questions, and contract analyses.

According to Equity spokesperson Helaine Feldman (of Dick Moore and Associates), the site was supposed to be up and running Aug. 3 but didn't launch until this past weekend.

The site -- http://www.actorsequity.org -- uses the acronym "A C T O R S" for its navigation bars, dividing information into the categories About Equity, Casting call, Theatre news, Onstage/offstage, Resource center and Services.

Run by Equity's Department of Computer Systems, the site is directed by Doug Beebe. "It'll be run internally and updated often," said spokesperson Davis.
