The concert, which was to take place April 7 at the Gerald R. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College, has been postponed to the fall. Details were not provided, however, it was recently announced that Butz had signed on to star in a new Netflix series from the creators of "Damages."

"This is a scenario that frequently happens when putting together a benefit," said Actors Fund CEO Joe Benincasa in a statement. "Wonderful actors get wonderful jobs, and The Actors Fund is always happy when actors are working."

David Zippel, who penned lyrics to the musical that has a score by the late Marvin Hamlisch and a book by Neil Simon, was announced to direct.

Zippel added, "The particular magic of pairing these two spectacular Broadway stars with this show is worth waiting for, so we look forward to presenting The Goodbye Girlwith Norbert and Kate this fall."

Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow, Giant) was cast as downhearted single-mom Paula, with Butz (Catch Me If You Can, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) as Elliot, the overzealous actor who ends up moving into her apartment. The benefit concert has to have musical direction by Joel Fram and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

The musical is based on Simon's 1977 screenplay, which starred Marsha Mason and Richard Dreyfuss, who won the Oscar for Best Actor. Bernadette Peters and Martin Short co-starred in the original 1993 Broadway production of The Goodbye Girl, which played the Marquis Theatre. It received five Tony Award nominations including Best Actress (Peters), Best Actor (Short), Best Choreography (Graciela Daniele), Best Direction (Michael Kidd) and Best Musical. It played 188 regular performances and 23 previews.

Songs from the Broadway production include "No More," "Paula (An Improvised Love Song)," "How Can I Win?," "I Think I Can Play This Part" and "What a Guy."

A revised version of the musical, featuring numerous new songs, premiered in London in 1997 starring Ann Crumb. Original cast albums of both the Broadway and London productions preserve the scores.
