News Actors' Gang Will Inhabit Our Town for West Coast Audiences Casting has been announced for the Actors' Gang production of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning account of small-town life, Our Town, which begins performances in Los Angeles April 18.

Justin Zsebe directs the engagement that officially opens April 25 and will run through May 30 at the Ivy Substation in Culver City.

"The inherently theatrical nature of the piece lends itself perfectly to The Gang's unique performance style," said director Justin Zsebe in a statement. "It's a play that celebrates the small moments in life - the ones that make up our connections to one another. Our company commitment to performances grounded in deep human truth will give the actors, and hopefully our audiences, a chance to rediscover what it means to live in our own communities today - our own 'our towns.'"

The cast includes Steven M. Set in New England at the turn of the 20th century, Our Town documents the lives of the townsfolk in Grovers Corners. The poignant work centers on the life and death of Emily Webb, who is allowed the opportunity to relive one moment of her life. The beloved play has enjoyed a resurgence of late, with the celebrated Hypocrites Theatre production re-imagined by David Cromer, which opened to raves Off-Broadway in February following a successful Chicago premiere. Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre Company is also currently staging the work under the direction of Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro and Jessica Thebus, starring "Friends" actor David Schwimmer.
