Actors Theatre of Louisville is now accepting entries for its annual National Ten-Minute Play Contest. Designed to seek out undiscovered short treasures, the contest boast a $1000 grant -- made possible by the generosity of Louisville native, Ted Heideman.

Last year's Heideman Award winners included Ana Li from New York City and her play, Compatible, and Adam LeFevre of New Paltz, NY for his Waterbabies. Both of these plays enjoyed a debut in ATL's Winter Showcase of ten-minute plays.

According to producing director, Jon Jory, ATL has produced more0 200 ten-minutes plays, many of which were part of the annual Humana Festival of New American Plays. In addition, more than 75 of these plays have been published by Samuel French, Inc. in such anthologies as 25 Ten-Minute Plays from Actors Theatre of Louisville, More Ten-Minute Plays from Actors Theatre of Louisville, Volume III from Actors Theatre of Louisville and Art Teatral (a Spanish collection).

Submission guidelines are fairly simple. ATL will accept any original and unproduced works for consideration. Each script should be 10 pages or less and must include a title page with name, address and phone number . Entries should be postmarked by December 1, 1996, winners will be announced in the fall of 1997.
