Brazier is a 2007 Dora Mavor Moore Award nominee as Best Actor in a Musical for playing Frank N Furter in CanStage's The Rocky Horror Show. The CD release party is 7 PM June 18 at the Reservoir Lounge, 52 Wellington Street East, in Toronto.
The independent CD — his solo recording debut — is "an eclectic collection of songs from the worlds of pop, rock, theatre and jazz." The songs "have been reinvented with a variety of original arrangements in a collaboration by Brazier and his producer/musical director Jamie Forsyth."
"The songs on this CD are songs that have resonated within me for a long time," Brazier said in a statement. "They reflect my life as an artist."
The recording includes songs made famous by performing artists including Sting, The Guess Who, Ben Folds and The Doors, and theatrical songs from "The Jungle Book," Damn Yankees and the Canadian musical The Story of My Life.
In addition to his acclaimed performances on the Canadian stage, including the recent Rocky Horror Show in Toronto, Brazier also appeared on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman in White and the revival of Into the Woods.
Adam Brazier's "Reflect" can be purchased on-line at www.adambrazier.com, or at Song & Script, 1200 Bay Street, in Toronto.
