The recording of Adam Guettel's Myths and Hymns will be released on Nonesuch Records March 30. Along with the composer himself, several cast members of the Off-Broadway production (then titled Saturn Returns) as well as Broadway voices like Audra McDonald and Mandy Patinkin lend themselves to the CD.

Myths and Hymns is the selection of songs based around ancient myths and text from a book of American Presbyterian hymns. Hymns was performed in March of 1998 at the Public Theatre.

"There's a Shout" -- Vivian Cherry
"Awaiting You" -- Billy Porter
"The Great Highway" -- Theresa McCarthy, Darius de Haas
"There's a Land" -- Adam Guettel
"Saturn Returns (Reprise) -- Adam Guettel

Ted Sperling musical directs. Tommy Krasker produced the recording. Back up singers include Kristen Chenoweth, Lewis Cleale, Brian d'Arcy James and Jessica Molaskey.

Guettel is best known for Floyd Collins, currently touring the country with stops in Philadelphia and Chicago. Floyd Collins was released on Nonesuch Records in 1997. Other recordings include four songs that appear on Audra McDonald's debut release, "Way Back To Paradise."
