"American Idol" runner-up and former Wicked performer Adam Lambert recently spoke on the syndicated radio and web talk show "Kidd Kraddick in the Morning" about his journey from the chorus to the "Idol" stage.

Lambert was in the ensemble of the San Francisco company of Wicked when he auditioned for "Idol," and he confessed in the interview that he did it to get more of a name for himself in the theatre world. Since so many "Idol" contestants and other television stars have appeared on Broadway, Lambert said, "Maybe I can get in there just for a minute so I can get more work."

Lambert also mentioned that the keys on almost all of his songs have been lowered "just a slight bit" for his touring performances so that he can always perform them to their fullest. The glam rocker told Kraddick that he never lip-synchs.
