Playwright Rapp directs his play that officially opened Sept. 27 after previews that began Sept. 13. Performances were originally scheduled to run through Oct. 28. Through the Yellow Hour is the first production of Rattlestick's 18th season.
The cast features Danielle Slavick, Alok Tewari, Matt Pilieci, Hani Furstenberg, Brian Mendes, Joanne Tucker and Vladimir Versailles.
"In Through the Yellow Hour," according to the Rattlestick, "the United States has been attacked. Men are being castrated, women enumerated. Ellen has been in hiding for 52 days, subsisting on very little, hoping against hope for her husband to return. As the world around her falls further into senseless chaos, she takes an unlikely action, one that just might signal a new beginning."
The design team includes Andromache Chalfant (scenic design), Jessica Pabst (costume design), Keith Parham (lighting design), Christian Frederickson (sound design) and Andrew Diaz (properties).
Rapp's plays include Hallway Trilogy, Ghosts in the Cottonwoods, The Metal Children, Nocturne, Faster, Animals & Plants, Finer Noble Gases, Stone Cold Dead Serious, Blackbird, Gompers, Essential Self-Defense and Red Light Winter.
