This marks a return to Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson for Goldstein (a Lortel nominee for Abigail's Party by the New Group) and Pinkham (who starred in the acclaimed Off-Broadway production of The Orphans' Home Cycle). They both previously appeared in the Public LAB production of the expressionistic look at the nation's seventh president, in the summer of 2009. Goldstein will play Calhoun, and Pinkham will play Clay. Quinn (making her Broadway debut) will be part of the Female Ensemble.

Additional casting will be announced shortly. The show, a spring hit at The Public Theater, was created by Alex Timbers (writer-director) and Michael Friedman (composer-lyricist).

Playbill.com previously reported that cast members from the Off-Broadway production, including Maria Elena Ramirez, Jeff Hiller and Lucas Near-Verbrugghe, will recreate their performances on Broadway.

Here's how the producers characterize the new musical: "In Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, rising star Benjamin Walker reprises his role as America's first political maverick. A.J. kicked British butt, shafted the Indians and smacked down the Spaniards all in the name of these United States — who cares if he didn't have permission? An exhilarating and white-knuckled look at one of our nation's founding rock stars, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson recreates and reinvents the life of 'Old Hickory,' from his humble beginnings on the Tennessee frontier to his days as our seventh Commander-in-Chief. It also asks the question, is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? What if he's really, really hot?"

Performances begin on Broadway at the Bernard Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th Street) on Sept. 20. Opening is Oct. 13. The Broadway run will also welcome back Hiller as John Adams, Near-Verbrugghe as Van Buren, Ben Steinfeld as Monroe, Greg Hildreth as Red Eagle, Kate Cullen Roberts as Elizabeth, Emily Young as the Female Soloist and James Barry as the Male Soloist.

The Public Theater (artistic director Oskar Eustis; executive director Andrew D. Hamingson), is teaming with Hair producers Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, alongside producers Scott M. Delman, Stewart F. Lane, Bonnie Comely, and Susan Gallin/Mary Lu Roffe to bring this critically acclaimed rock musical to Broadway. It's a co-production with Center Theatre Group in association with Les Freres Corbusier.

Following a sold-out run at Public LAB in 2009, Bloody Bloody returned to The Public for a full main stage production and opened to acclaimed reviews on April 6. It received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, and a Drama Desk Award for Best Book of a Musical. When the show closed on June 27 after three extensions, it was the second highest-grossing show in The Public Theater's downtown history.

Walker, critically acclaimed for his portrayal of Andrew Jackson, will reprise his performance for the Broadway run.

A complete original cast album from Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records, produced by Kurt Deutsch and Dean Sharenow, will be released Sept. 21. The album will include the songs "Populism, Yea, Yea," "Rock Star," "I'm Not That Guy" and "The Hunters of Kentucky."

The design team will again feature scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Bart Fasbender and choreography by Danny Mefford.
