News Additional Casting Announced for Gypsy, Starring Louise Pitre, at Chicago Shakespeare Theater Keith Kupferer and Erin Burniston will join Tony Award nominee Louise Pitre in the Chicago Shakespeare Theater production of Gypsy, which will begin performances in February 2014.

As previously reported, Pitre, known for her performances in Mamma Mia! and Les Misérables, will take on the role of Rose in a production to be staged by Gary Griffin (The Color Purple).

Gypsy will run Feb. 6-March 23, 2014. The musical has a book by Arthur Laurents, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and music by Jule Styne.

Kupferer will play Herbie with Burniston as June. Additional casting includes Rengin Altay as Miss Cratchitt/Electra, Molly Callinan as Mazeppa, Barbara E. Robertson as Tessie Tura, Rhett Guter as Tulsa, Adam Fane as Angie and Joseph Sammour as Yonkers.

Also featured are Matt DeCaro, Maddie DePorter, Betsy Farrar, Marc Grapey, Kelly Anne Krauter, Dana Parker, Jared Rein and Cullen Rogers.

Complete casting will be announced shortly. The creative team includes Kevin Depinet (scenic design), Virgil C. Johnson (costume design), Philip S. Rosenberg (lighting design) and Ray Nardelli (sound design).
