News Adinah Alexander Will Run a Best Little Whorehouse... for TriArts Sharon Playhouse Before appearing in the upcoming Cyndi Lauper musical Kinky Boots, Adinah Alexander will star as Miss Mona in the TriArts Sharon Playhouse production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

TriArts artistic director John Simpkins (Pool Boy, Bloodsong of Love) directs the Tony Award-winning musical that has a book by Larry L. King and Peter Masterson, with a score by Carol Hall. Whorehouse will run June 28-July 15 in Sharon, CT.

Alexander will be joined by Travis Mitchell (Spring Awakening) as Sheriff Earl Dodd in a cast that also features Meggan Utech (Jewel), Rose Bisogno (Shy), Kathleen Weston (Angel), Ashley Sweetman (Doatsey), Emily Soell (Miss Wulla Jean), Tim Shea (Melvin P. Thorpe), John Champion (Governor), Duane Estes (Senator Wingwoah), Dave Cadwell (Bandleader/Edsel Mackey), Russ Sawicki (C.J. Scruggs) and Philip O’Reilly (Mayor Rufus Poindexter).

The ensemble will feature Stephen Beard, Drew Berezowitz, Amber Cameron, Livie Casto, Sarah Pearl Loman, Gena Loe, Zach Longstreet, Christian Lowery, Nick Savarese, Becky Sawicki, Jim Scofield and Samantha Weinstein.

M.K. Lawson will choreograph with musical direction by Rob Rokicki.

Here's how it's billed: "Miss Mona's Chicken Ranch brothel comes to life in this rollicking production of the award-winning musical. When crusading television watchdog Melvin P. Thorpe ogles the whorehouse as his next moral target, Miss Mona, her bevy of working girls and Sherriff Ed Earl Dodd must buck the muckraker to keep the ranch open." The design team includes Erik D. Diaz (scenic design), Chris Dallos (lighting design), Michelle Humphrey (costume design) and Jay Stirone (sound design).
