John Leguizamo: Salamander
Stage and screen star Leguizamo, who can currently be seen Off-Broadway in the Public Theater's Latin History for Morons, will star opposite Allison Miller in a new ABC drama pilot entitled Salamander. The comedic actor will play former policeman David Vargas—now a New York City bartender—and the best friend of central character Ethan, who is described as “a brilliant but misanthropic engineer who recruits a skeptical Homeland Security psychiatrist, Nora (Miller) to help him track a mysterious bank robber.” Gary Fleder will direct; writers include Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.

Taye Diggs, Doomsday
Diggs, whose numerous stage credits include Rent, Wicked, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, has been cast opposite Jack Davenport, Rachelle Lefevre, and Dan Byrd in Doomsday, a new thriller pilot for ABC. Directed by Joachim Ronning from a script by Mark Bianculli and VJ Boyd, the drama begins post-9/11 “when the U.S. government institutes a secret think tank featuring the most creative minds in science and entertainment that is tasked with dreaming up man-made disaster scenarios and their possible solutions." When one of their secret theoretical disasters becomes a reality years later, the team reassembles to prevent what they caused. Diggs will play engineer and architect Dr. Davis, a former member of the Doomsday Project.
