News Adrift's Mendoza to Star in Killing the Boss at the Cherry Lane Killing the Boss, a dark new comedy by Catherine Filloux, will play a limited engagement at The Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre beginning Feb. 6.

Directed by Jean Randich, the new work from the author of Lemkin's House will officially open Feb. 12 and run through Feb. 23. The cast will feature Sue Cremin, Dale Soules, John Daggett and Adrift in Macao Drama Desk nominee Orville Mendoza as The Boss. Jean Randich directs.

Killing the Boss, according to press notes, "follows Eve — a typically peaceful American playwright with a grant to work in a nuthouse of a country — as she plots to assassinate the country's head of state a.k.a. The Boss out of fury, frustration and addiction to her fight against social injustice."

The production will have set design by Sandra Goldmark, lighting design by Matthew E. Adelson, costume design by Camille Assaf, sound design by Jane Shaw and fight choreography/movement by Felix Ivanov.

Playwright Catherine Filloux has also penned Lemkin's House, The Beauty Inside, Eyes of the Heart, Silence of God, Mary and Myra, Arthur's War, Photographs From S-21, Escuela Del Mundo The Breach.

Morgan Allen, a co-producer of Lemkin's House, is producing Killing the Boss for Theaproductions. Erin Levendorf is the associate producer. Show times are Tuesdays-Saturdays at 7 PM with matinees Saturdays at 1 PM.

The Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre is located in Manhattan at 38 Commerce Street, near Seventh Avenue, between Bedford and Barrow Streets. Tickets, priced $18, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
