Miss Liev Schreiber’s landmark performance as Iago in the fall production of Othello at the Public Theater? Well, the Africa Arts Theater Company isn’t promising any stars, and can only hope for the kind of reviews the Public got, but it is presenting the same play, which, when it comes down to it, isn’t a bad piece of work. Mark Edward Lang, a member of Off-Broadway’s Harbor Theatre, will direct the new mounting of Shakespeare’s tragedy at the Pantheon Theatre at 303 W. 42nd Street in Manhattan. The cast includes Sharron Bower, Carl Bradford, Javier Cobo, Caroline Ficksman, Richard Kohn, John Marino, Christopher G. Roberts, Charles J. Roby, Timothy D. Stickney, James Tellichuysen, Trey Teufel, Owen Thompson, David Tornabene, Pauline Tully and Brian Voelcker.
Tickets are $12. Call (212) 279-4200.
