Actors' Equity and Broadway theatre producers will return to the bargaining table this afternoon, Oct. 11 hoping to finalize the terms of the next production contract.
The production contract is Equity's mainstay labor contract, governing work on Broadway shows.
There is progress being made in the negotiations and a marathon session on Oct. 10 included some discussion of salaries. The fact that salaries were discussed is considered a general sign of progress as the "money issue" is typically left until the end of these negotiations. In this case, salary issues came after discussions about show schedules, raked (inclined stages) and show transfers to Broadway.
Allowing for last night's long negotiating session, producers and union representatives did not meet this morning and are scheduled back at the table in New York City at 1 PM today.
