The Public Theater has extended its upcoming world premiere engagement of Jordan E. Cooper’s Ain’t No Mo’, set to begin performances March 12 at the theatre’s LuEsther Hall. The Stevie Walker-Webb-helmed production will now run through April 28, instead of the previously announced April 21.
Opening night is set for March 27.
The play, billed as a “satirical odyssey,” explores the exodus of the Black community from the injustices of America as the promise of a Black president wears away.
Cooper stars as Peaches in the Public staging; joining him are Marchánt Davis, Jennean Farmer, Fedna Jacquet, Crystal Lucas-Perry, Ebony Marshall Oliver, and Simone Recasner. Hermon Whaley Jr. will go on as Peaches on Sunday matinees.
The production also features sets by Kimie Nishikawa, costumes by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Adam Honoré, and sound design by Emily Auciello.
