News Ain't Supposed to Die, Birdie Blue, Dessa Rose Top 2005 AUDELCO Awards Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death, Birdie Blue and Dessa Rose were among the winners at the 33rd Annual Vivian Robinson/ AUDELCO Recognition Awards for "excellence in Black Theatre."

Kim Fields and Ralph Carter hosted the Nov. 21 ceremony which was held at Aaron Davis Hall's Marian Anderson Theater in New York City.

The recent revival of Melvin Van Peebles' Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death (The Classical Theatre of Harlem), Cheryl L. West's Birdie Blue ( Second Stage Theatre) and the Stephen Flaherty-Lynn Ahrens musical Dessa Rose (Lincoln Center Theater) took home the evening's honors.
