Blumenfeld will take over for James Harper, who was previously cast in the role of family patriarch Cornelius McCorkle. Simon Levy will direct the production that will run Feb. 19-April 17. An official opening has been set for Feb. 26.

Originally produced in one-act form as part of Some Problems for the Moose Lodge, which was presented by the Goodman Theatre in 1980, Williams later expanded A House Not Meant to Stand into a full, two-act play. The Fountain production is presented in special arrangement with the Tennessee Williams estate. Stephen Sachs and Deborah Lawlor produce for the Fountain Theatre.

The cast also features Sandy Martin ("Big Love") as Bella McCorkle, Daniel Billet (Photograph 51) as Charlie, Virginia Newcomb ("Peacock") as Stacey, Lisa Richards (Sweet Bird of Youth) as Jessie Sykes, Robert Craighead ("The Bold & The Beautiful") as Emerson Sykes, as well as Kevin High, Chip Bent and Caroline Treadwell.

According to the Fountain: "While Williams often used drama to convey hope and desperation in human hearts, it's through this dark, expressionistic comedy that he ultimately expressed his vision of the fragile state of our world. Subtitled 'a Gothic comedy,' A House Not Meant to Stand brings us the blazingly dysfunctional McCorkle family in a fiercely funny, bitingly moving, turbo-charged tragicomedy that is at once searing, savage, and hilarious… The McCorkle’s crumbling house is a metaphor for contemporary society, while the characters are drawn from the Williams family: his father Cornelius, his aunt Belle, his paternal grandfather, and his brother Dakin."

The Fountain production will have set design by Jeff McLaughlin, lighting design by Ken Booth, costume design by Naila Aladdin-Sanders, sound design by Peter Bayne and fight choreography by Doug Lowry.
