The April 3 evening will be hosted by two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey and will include the presentation of four Cherry Lane Legacy Awards to playwrights Edward Albee and David Henry Hwang, theatre lawyer John F. Breglio and Speaker of the New York City Council Christine C. Quinn. The one-night-only event will also include performances of scenes from such notable Cherry Lane productions as The Pirates of Penzance and Dutchman. Those scheduled to appear include F. Murray Abraham, Amiri Baraka, Robby Benson, Billy Crudup, Karla DeVito and Dule Hill.
Act II: The New Cherry Lane Gala will begin at 6 PM with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by the awards presentation and performances at 6:45 PM, dinner at 7:45 PM and a live auction at 8:30 PM.
