News Alex Brightman, Matt Dengler and Jonathan Rayson Will Join Judy McLane in Pioneer's Next to Normal Singer-actress Judy McLane, who plays Tanya in the Broadway company of Mamma Mia!, will star as Diana, a mother battling depression and bipolar disorder, in Pioneer Theatre Company's upcoming production of Next to Normal Sept. 16-Oct. 1 in Utah.

She will be joined on stage in the limited engagement by Ephie Aardema as Natalie, Alex Brightman as Henry, Ben Crawford as the Doctors, Matt Dengler as Gabe and Jonathan Rayson as Dan. (McLane, according to her official website, will take a leave of absence from Mamma Mia! Aug. 22-Oct. 2, returning to the Winter Garden Oct. 3.)

The production will feature direction and choreography by Karen Azenberg, musical direction by Larry Goldberg, set design by George Maxwell, costume design by Carol Wells-Day, lighting design by Michael Gilliam, sound design by Matthew Tibbs and hair and makeup design by Amanda French.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal features music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey.

Judy McLane, who received a Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance as Vienna in Off-Broadway's Johnny Guitar, has appeared on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman, Aspects of Love and Chess. She starred in the tours of Into the Woods, Big, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Side By Side By Sondheim. Her many other theatrical credits include Follies, Victor/Victoria, Evita, Man of La Mancha, Oliver!, Nine and Kiss Me, Kate.
