Everett is leaving early to begin filming the BBC/HBO series "Parade's End," adapted by Tom Stoppard from Ford Madox Ford's books.
McGowan's previous stage credits include West End runs in Art, Little Shop of Horrors (playing the Dentist in the Menier Chocolate Factory production that transferred to the Duke of York's, for which he received an Olivier nomination) and Cabaret. Regional credits include playing Ford in the RSC's production of Merry Wives: The Musical at Stratford-upon-Avon (in a cast that also included Judi Dench and Simon Callow) and the Duke in Measure for Measure. On TV, he has starred in "Preston Front," "Bleak House" and "Mayo" as well as his own impression shows. His first play Timing premiered at London's King's Head.
He joins a cast that also includes Kara Tointon as Eliza Doolittle, Diana Rigg as Henry's mother Mrs. Higgins, Peter Eyre as Colonel Pickering, Marty Cruickshank as Mrs. Eynsford Hill, Michael Feast as Mr. Alfred Doolittle, with Roberta Taylor as Mrs. Pearce and Peter Sandys Clarke as Freddy Eynsford Hill.
