News All Night Strut Swings in the New Year at L.A.'s ICT, Jan. 15 LONG BEACH, CA -- International City Theatre opens its fourteenth season in its 99-seat venue (located on the campus of Long Beach City College) Jan. 15, 1999, with a production of The All Night Strut!. It's a musical revue of the big band and swing eras conceived and choreographed by Fran Charnas. Lance Roberts is the director.

LONG BEACH, CA -- International City Theatre opens its fourteenth season in its 99-seat venue (located on the campus of Long Beach City College) Jan. 15, 1999, with a production of The All Night Strut!. It's a musical revue of the big band and swing eras conceived and choreographed by Fran Charnas. Lance Roberts is the director.

"Four performers cakewalk, lindy, shimmy and tap their way through the Depression, World War II and the postwar boom," reads a company press release. The settings range from "the funky jive of Harlem to the sophisticated elegance of El Morocco and the romance of the Stage Door Canteen."

Such songs as "Chattanooga Choo Choo," "In the Mood" and "Minnie the Moocher" are featured.

In the cast are Orlando Alexander, Joe Giuffre, Alysa S. Lobo and Melanie Wingert.

The show is produced by Shashin Desai, with musical direction by Darryl Archibald, set design by Bradley Kaye, costumes by Sherry Linnell and lighting by Tom Ruzika. Call (562) 938-4128 for tickets and information.
