News   All-Star West End Benefit to Aid Australian Bushfires Appeal
Australian-born stars of the West End, led by host Simon Burke — who recently played Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music at the London Palladium — will come together at the Palace Theatre March 29 for a one-night benefit performance, West End's Sunday Best, to raise funds for the British Red Cross Australian Bushfires Appeal.

Cast members from Oliver!, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Sister Act, La Clique, Dirty Dancing, Chicago, The Lion King, La Cage aux Folles and Jersey Boys, plus members of the companies of the recently shuttered The Sound of Music and Zorro the Musical, will be featured alongside special guests that include Puppetry of the Penis, Rolf Harris, Philip Quast, Tamsin Carroll, String Divas, The Flying Pickets and Rat Pack's Back. In February the South of Australia was ravaged by fires, and the North was devastated by flash flooding. At least 210 people died and 7,000 people are now homeless. The expatriate Autralian entertainment community and the stars of London's West End will come together for one night only to raise money for this cause.
