News Alley Company Members Populate Christie's Unexpected Guest Houston's Alley Theatre has announced casting for its "Summer Chills" production of the Agatha Christie thriller The Unexpected Guest.

The Unexpected Guest begins July 10 and will continue though Aug. 3. It opens July 12. Alley associate director James Black stages the popular mystery that previously played the Alley "Summer Chills" line-up in 1997.

The cast for The Unexpected Guest includes Alley company members Paul Hope as Julian Farrar, Elizabeth Heflin as Laura Warwick, James Black as Michael Starkwedder, Todd Waite as Henry Angel, Jeffrey Bean as Sergeant Cadwallader and John Tyson as Inspector Thomas, Ann Quackenbush as Miss Bennett, Brandon Hearnsberger as Jan Warwick and Melissa Hart as Mrs. Warwick.

"In dense fog near the South Welsh coastline, a stranger runs his car into a ditch and arrives at a nearby house," explain press notes. "Inside, he finds the murdered body of a former big-game hunter. The dead man's wife is near the body with a gun in her hand. Is she guilty or is she protecting someone?"

Designing the production are Kevin Rigdon (scenic and lighting design), Alejo Vietti (costume design) and Joe Pino (sound design).
