Gregory Boyd, artistic director for the Alley Theatre, directs the production, which began previews Oct. 5 and will continue through Nov. 4.

Carter and Dillon portray the Brewster sisters, with James Belcher as Teddy Brewster, James Black as Jonathan Brewster, Elizabeth Heflin as Elaine Harper, Paul Hope as Officer O'Hara, Chris Hutchison as Officer Klein, Charles Krohn as Reverend Harper/Lieutenant Rooney, David Rainey as Officer Brophy, John Tyson as Dr. Einstein, Todd Waite as Mortimer Brewster and Colin McPhillamy as Mr. Gibbs/Mr. Witherspoon.

Joseph Kesselring's comedy, according to press notes, "introduces the Brewster sisters (portrayed by Carter and Dillon), their nephew Teddy – who believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt, and their drama critic nephew Mortimer, who is as surprised as anyone to learn that his maiden aunts have taken it upon themselves to commit murder – with a glass of arsenic-spiked elderberry wine."

A design team of Broadway and Tony-winning talent has been assembled for Arsenic and Old Lace, including Tony Award-winning costume designer Judith Dolan (LoveMusik, Parade, Candide), scenic designer Hugh Landwehr (Frozen, A View from the Bridge), Tony Award-winning lighting designer Pat Collins (Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Doubt, Proof) and sound designer Joe Pino (Alley’s Doubt, The Crucible).

Carter is well known for her work as Julia Sugarbaker on television's "Designing Women." Her Broadway credits include a critically acclaimed portrayal of Maria Callas in Master Class as well as Mrs. Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her previous Alley Theatre work includes Ken Ludwig's Be My Baby, in which she co-starred with her husband, Hal Holbrook. Carter was recently an Emmy nominee for her appearance on "Desperate Housewives." Mia Dillon's extensive Broadway credits include Our Town, The Miser, Hay Fever, Agnes of God, The Corn Is Green, Once a Catholic, Da and Crimes of the Heart, for which she received a Tony nomination and the Clarence Derwent & DramaLogue Awards. Dillon was also represented on the PBS broadcast of Our Town, starring opposite Paul Newman. Arsenic and Old Lace marks Dillon's Alley Theatre debut.
