Previously unpublished scenes from working versions of Tennessee Williams' American masterpiece, A Streetcar Named Desire, will be displayed in a program called "Roads Not Taken: Scenes from Early Versions of Tennessee Williams" at the Common Basis Theatre in NYC, March 25 - 28.

The most strikingly different plotting has Blanche and Stanley, in the final scene, waking up together after a night of rough consensual sex. Of course, in the final version, Stanley rapes Blanche sending her down the road of insanity.

The program will feature this scene and six others, from various versions of the text.

The organizer, Dan Issac directs a cast including David Burke, Frank Girardeau, Janet Girardeau and Marcia Haufrecht.
