Classic Arts News Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and American Ballet Theatre to Visit Cleveland in 2005-06 Playhouse Square's 2005-06 ballet series will include performances by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and American Ballet Theatre, the Cleveland venue announced.
ABT will perform Konstantin Sergeyev's Le Corsaire (after Petipa), set to a score that includes music by Adolph Adam, C_sare Pugni, L_o Delibes, Riccardo Drigo, and Prince Oldenberg.

The schedule also features appearances by Cincinnati Ballet, performing Val Caniparoli's The Nutcracker, and the National Ballet of Canada performing artistic director James Kudelka's The Firebird and The Four Seasons. Kudelka has announced that he will resign his position at the end of the month and become the company's resident choreographer.

The Ailey company's appearance is presented as part of co-presenter DanceCleveland's 50th anniversary season.
