After launching the season with a gala honoring Ailey Board President Debra L. Lee November 29, the season will include the choreographic debut of Jamar Roberts. He has performed at The White House and as a guest star on So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With the Stars, and The Ellen Degeneres Show. His latest piece, Members Don’t Get Weary, is set to music by John Coltrane and will premiere December 8.

In addition, Spanish choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano makes his Ailey debut with Victoria, set to Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. New work The Golden Section, by Tony-winning choreographer Twyla Tharp (Movin’ Out), will premiere as part of the programming as well, set to music by David Burn (Here Lies Love).
