News Amanpour, Pierce, Armbruster and Saxe Read Love Goes to Press May 19 CNN correspondent Christiane Amanpour will take part in the Mint Theater Company's gala reading of Love Goes to Press May 19.

Penned by Martha Gellhorn – journalist and former wife of Ernest Hemingway – and fellow war reporter Virginia Cowles, Love Goes to Press is a romantic comedy that tells of two female war correspondents in a 1944 Italian press camp during WWII.

Amanpour, known for her CNN news coverage (including the series "God's Warriors"), will read Gellhorn's introduction to the play that was included in the 1995 print edition of Love Goes to Press. The evening will also honor the late Gellhorn for her work as a journalist, author and playwright.

Set to perform the piece are Angela Pierce (Hamlet), Heidi Armbruster ("Michael Clayton") and Gareth Saxe (The Homecoming).

A popular work when it debuted in London in the 1940's, Love Goes to Press lasted only four performances on Broadway. The Mint presents the gala reading to complement its current staging of Ernest Hemingway's lost drama The Fifth Column, which runs through May 18.

A 6 PM seated dinner at Etcetera Etcetera Restaurant precedes the 8 PM benefit reading of Love Goes to Press, which takes place at the Mint Theater. A reception will follow the performance. Tickets, priced $125-$250, are available by phoning (212) 315-0231. The Mint Theater Company is located at 311 West 43rd Street in New York.
