The evening, a benefit for The Acting Company, will be held June 21 at 7 PM at The Kaye Playhouse. Newcomers to the one-night-only benefit include Lauren Ambrose and Aaron Lazar. They join the previously announced Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, Tony winner Victoria Clark, Tony winner Linda Lavin, Norm Lewis, Tony winner James Naughton, Kelli O’Hara, Mary Beth Peil and Billy Stritch as well as cast members of the Tony-winning revival of South Pacific. (Kelsey Grammer and Raul Esparza will be unable to perform that evening.)
Written by Tony winner John Doyle, the benefit was conceived by musical director Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Chris Gattelli, who will direct.
Founded in 1972 by John Houseman and Margot Harley, The Acting Company has been honored with a Tony for Excellence in Theater. Founding members Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone as well as Rainn Wilson, Jesse L. Martin, Harriet Harris, Frances Conroy, Keith David, David Ogden Stiers, Jeffrey Wright and 300 others all began their careers on tour with The Acting Company.
