News American Repertory Theater Will Hold Memorial for David Wheeler The American Repertory Theater will hold a memorial service May 14 for veteran Boston theatre director David Wheeler, who died Jan. 3 at the age of 86.

Wheeler was the founder and artistic director of the Theatre Company of Boston from 1963 to 1975. He also served as resident director of the A.R.T. -- beginning in 1984 -- where he last staged Harold Pinter's No Man's Land in 2007.

The memorial will take place at 6 PM at A.R.T.'s Loeb Drama Center, where Wheeler's friends, colleagues and family are expected to speak. A reception in the lobby of the theatre will follow.
