59E59 Theaters, which has offered the Brits Off-Broadway festival for the past five years, has announced that the annual festival of works from the U.K. has been moved to the fall in order to present the festival of American regional theatre.

Americas Off-Broadway promises to offer a collection of productions culled from regional theatres across the country. A complete list of plays and dates for Americas Off-Broadway will be announced shortly.

The non-profit 59E59 Theaters has frequently played host to productions that germinated in American regional theatres, including the Merrimack Repertory Theatre production of Secret Order, as well as the festival of Chicago theatre GoChicago!, which included the Hypocrites Theatre productions of The 4th Graders Present an Unnamed Love-Suicide and the Writers' Theatre's staging of Crime and Punishment.

"We were interested in looking at productions from American regional theatres that spoke to the various facets of the 'American experience,'" 59E59 artistic director Elysabeth Kleinhans said in a statement. "We are very excited to have found a number of productions that examine and uphold the absolute diversity of that term."

The fall run of Brits Off-Broadway will allow 59E59 Theaters to bring in festive seasonal works from across the pond as part of its programming. For further information visit 59E59Theaters.
