News Amour's Legrand to Celebrate Birthday with Birdland Concerts Michel Legrand, who composed the score to Broadway's Amour, will celebrate his 75th birthday with a week of concerts at Birdland.

Legrand will be joined by Ron Carter on bass and Lewis Nash on drums for the March 6-10 concerts at the famed jazz club. Show times are 9 and 11 PM. Legrand, who was Tony-nominated for his score to Broadway's Amour, is now teaming with the creators of Les Miz and Miss Saigon for Marguerite, a musical based on the Alexandre Dumas fils play, La Dame aux camélias. Legrand will compose the music, with lyrics by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg.

Legrand is also the recipient of three Academy Awards and five Grammy Awards. His songs include "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?," "The Windmills of Your Mind," "How Do You Keep the Music Playing?" and "Papa, Can You Hear Me?"
