News Amy Ryan Joins Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance in New Steven Spielberg Film Amy Ryan will co-star with Tom Hanks in Steven Spielberg's untitled Cold War spy thriller, Deadline.com reports.

Ryan, an Academy Award nominee and two-time Tony Award nominee (A Streetcar Named Desire, Uncle Vanya), will play wife to James Donovan (Hanks), the CIA attorney who, when he sent to negotiate the release of captured American U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers, is thrust behind the Iron Curtain.

Along with Academy Award winner and Tony nominee Hanks ("Forrest Gump," Lucky Guy), the cast will also feature Tony winner Mark Rylance (Jerusalem, Twelfth Night). Alan Alda (Glengarry Glen Ross, The Apple Tree), Billy Magnussen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Sex With Strangers) and Eve Hewson ("Enough Said," The 27 Club") are also in talks to join the cast.

The screenplay, which is based on the true story of James Donovan, is by the Coen brothers.

The film is slated for an Oct. 16, 2015, release.
