Manhattan Concert Productions brought The Scarlet Pimpernel to Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall for one night only February 18. The concert staging, directed by Gabriel Barre, featured a company that included Laura Osnes, Tony Yazbeck, and Norm Lewis, among others. Following the concert, the company gathered to celebrate at Planet Hollywood Times Square.
With music by Frank Wildhorn and lyrics and book by Nan Knighton, The Scarlet Pimpernel is based on Baroness Orczy’s 20th-century novel of the same name, which takes place at the peak of the French Revolution and the fight for liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Joining Yazbeck as Percy Blakeney and Osnes as Marguerite were Lewis as Chauvelin, Corey Cott as Armand, Dana Costello as Marie, and Drew Gehling as the Prince of Wales/Robespierre. Rounding out the cast are Alex Newell, Kevin Duda, Chris Dwan, John Treacy Egan, Kevin Kern, Ashley Loren, Eliseo Roman, Yasmeen Sulieman, Ashley Blanchet, TyNia Brandon, Alysha Deslorieux, and Sara Sheperd.

The Scarlet Pimpernel featured musical direction by Jason Howland as well as a chorus of over 200 singers from across the country in addition to the New York City Chamber Orchestra.
The creative team also included set designer Caite Hevner, lighting designer Jason Kantrowitz, sound designer Dave Horowitz, costume designer Heather C. Jackson, production stage manager Chris Zaccardi, associate stage manager Willy Kinch, associate director-choreographer Jennifer Paulson Lee, assistant director Lauren Widner, fight director Sordelet Inc: Rick Sordelet, associate lighting designer and programmer Jackson Miller, with casting by Telsey & Company: Craig Burns, CSA, Casting Juniper. The production manager was Juniper Street Productions.
