The world premiere staging of Paul Weitz's Trust began previews July 23 at Off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre.

"Harry is rich," according to production notes. "Harry is married. But when Harry doesn’t trust any of it is enough, he looks to find something real in the most unlikely of places." The dark comedy "explores the corrosive effect of power on relationships and the hope we need to make them better."

Peter DuBois directs a cast featuring Zach Braff ("Scrubs"), Bobby Cannavale (Tony nominee for Mauritius), Tony winner Sutton Foster (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Little Women, Young Frankenstein, Shrek the Musical) and Ari Graynor (The Little Dog Laughed).

A few blocks uptown, Primary Stages presents the New York premiere of Jonathan Tolins' Secrets of the Trade, which began previews July 27 at 59E59 Theaters.

Here's how Primary Stages bills the play: "In show business, it’s all about who you know. Or is it? Andy Lipman, a smart, ambitious kid from Long Island dreams of a career on Broadway and hopes that his idol, theater legend Martin Kerner, can give it to him. Will Kerner open Andy’s door to success, or will their complicated relationship force him to question a life in the theater?"

Noah Robbins and Tony Award winner John Glover lead a cast that also includes Amy Aquino, Bill Brochtrup and Mark Nelson. Matt Shakman directs.
