The Broadway musical Anastasia will launch a U.S. national tour this fall, beginning October 9 in Schenectady, New York. The traveling production has 19 additional initial scheduled stops, with additional engagements to be added this spring.
Anastasia, which officially opened last April, features a score by Tony Award winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty and an all-new book by Tony winner Terrence McNally. The three previously collaborated on the Tony-winning musical Ragtime.
The stage production is based on the 1997 Fox animated feature, which was also scored by Ahrens and Flaherty. They were nominated for the Academy Award for Anastasia’s breakout song, “Journey to the Past.”
